Most attendees of the ITS Maryland annual meeting have already been sponsored for RITIS by the Maryland SHA, VDOT, DDOT, MWCOG, and/or other state or local agencies in the region. Attendees not already registered should go to www.ritis.org to request login credentials. That website also provides detailed information about the scope of the many tools in RITIS.
Questions about RITIS can be left in the CATT Lab’s inbox, or emailed to info@ritis.org
SESSION 2A
TSMO: Leveraging Cloud Services for the Transportation Industry
While new technology brings new opportunities and excitement, it also brings challenges that require new ways of thinking. For example, in recent years cloud services have become a viable option for transportation agencies and companies to capitalize on the increased influx of data and information, while reducing IT / OT costs and headaches. But the cloud's many flavors make it difficult to determine where to start. In this session we will hear about Virginia DOT 's transition to cloud hosted data services. Furthermore, whether agencies decide to embrace cloud transition challenges sooner or later, all should consider taking action to address the increasing cybersecurity threat. A transportation industry expert will provide insights for addressing these threats.
